The learning began years ago, in a grand building of brick and mortar on Washington Avenue, a street lined with beautiful homes and tall trees. Our parents entrusted us into the hands of teachers so talented that we still recall today lessons learned in their rooms decades ago. Our teachers at Savannah High School inspired us, ignited our imaginations, taught us to love books and learning, and started us on paths that would lead to our ultimate career destinations. Members of the Class of 1966 have become doctors and nurses, lawyers, ministers, teachers, insurance professionals, artists, homemakers, technology professionals, engineers, musicians, trades people, business owners or members of one of the Armed Forces - all because of the educators who cared enough to make a difference. Their dedication will be remembered forever by all of us they inspired. |
